Hello and welcome, my name is James French, I’m 20 and by day an IT engineer fixing all things computers and at the weekend it’s gloves on, helmet on, visor down and ready for the track. From as early as I can remember I’ve always been extremely competitive with a keen interest in cars and you would often find me at the local track or whizzing around on a go-kart. I’m currently also restoring my 1987 BMW 318i (E30) – See the picture gallery.

This year though is going to be very exciting for me as it will be my first year in competitive motorsport! Not being one for taking things easy I will be competing in not one, but four hillclimb / sprint championships in my lightly modified Mazda MX-5, these are:

  • HSA Speed Championship
  • Longton and District Motor Club’s Northern Speed Championship
  • Liverpool Motor Club’s Speed Championship
  • Champion of Three Sisters

I created “Frenchie Motorsports” with the aim of building up a strong following on social media where I will be posting regular updates on my progression through the championships. I’m looking forward to my first competitive season and meeting other like-minded people at the various events I’ll be attending this year.

The aim is to provide some exciting content on both here and on social media for those that can’t attend in person. I am currently a brand ambassador for Sparco Fashion UK and am in discussion with a few companies regarding discounts through Frenchie Motorsports, more details on these will follow later this year.

If you have any questions or would like to know more don’t hesitate to contact me either on here or via social media.

Hopefully, see you at a track soon!

James French (Frenchie)
